Naperville, IL…Rep. Grant Wehrli (R-Naperville) and AT&T Illinois recently announced that KidsMatter is the winner of an “AT&T Investing in Illinois Award” and a contribution of $2,000 from AT&T.

“KidsMatter makes a tremendous positive difference in the lives of thousands of local youth each year through their events, programs, Youth in Action workshops, coalition building and much more,” said Rep. Wehrli. “They are a very worthy recipient of this award in recognition of their ongoing commitment to shape and inspire the next generation of young people.”

(Naperville and Elmhurst, Ill. – October 29, 2015) – Edward Hospital, in Naperville, and Elmhurst Hospital will each host a Diabetes Awareness Fair on Saturday, November 14, 9 a.m. – 12 noon.

The Fairs, in conjunction with National Diabetes Awareness Month, will be held at:

Edward Hospital, Heart Hospital Lobby, 801 S. Washington St. in Naperville

Elmhurst Hospital, East Lobby, 155 E. Brush Hill Rd.

The Fairs will offer screenings, including blood pressure, BMI (body mass index), diabetes finger­stick (requires a 12­hour fast) and foot assessment, and DiabetesAware, an online screening tool which checks your risk for diabetes.

There will be exhibits on health and wellness as well as healthy refreshments. Diabetes educators will be on hand to answer questions. An Edward­Elmhurst Health physician will begin each Fair at 9 a.m. with “Ways to Reduce Your Risk of Pre­Diabetes and Diabetes.” The screenings and vendor exhibits will open at 9:30 a.m. at both locations.
